Oh there is a tutorial about 3D text over here and it's short and sweet. For the lighting effects and etc, it's actually just using several dummy layers of different shades of gray and gradients coupled with different blending modes. It's more like a trial and error thing (and is all up to you), so writing a tutorial might be a little but pointless haha!

But of course, I'm taking that into consideration. If I have the time to write, of course I will ;)

Hey, Teddy, I'm back after months of not reading your fantastic blog! Congratulations, too, on your new phone and I think it's very nice. I was busy studying and revising for the UPSR and guess what, I got 5As and I was chosen as Johore's Best 2008 Student. I was so happy and all of my efforts were paid back. Anyway, yes, I like the glowing thing your DESIGN thing. I even started my blogspot again. (But this time, no copy and pastes).

@med
Thanks for your best wishes! Heh! My weekend will be really busy. I'm organising this hall supper which will occupy my whole Saturday. I hope everything will be fine.

@jason
Yea I loved the cartoony effect too! I was trying out different fonts to get the effect that I want until I stumbled upon this font. It's just too cute!

@Edward
Thanks for your compliments!

Same here! I thought I had learned a lot in this short photoshop workshop in my high school - and I couldn't believe it now that they thought us really, really basic photo-editing stuff and nothing about graphic design. They only thought us how to play with saturation and contrast, cropping and a few basic tools.

I love photoshop a lot too! It's one of the best graphic editor/creator I've found! Although GIMP goes around for free, I find the GUI of Photoshop way more intuitive and handy.

p/s: Nice new theme you have over there! Awesome stuff!

You're welcome! Oooh the world is really small... not to mention Singapore! I've been bumping into friend of friends over here and oh, to hell, that six degrees of separation theory! Woah you live in hall 12? I live in hall 15... my goodness!

My friends and I will eat Korean food over at your canteen every Wednesday evening! Maybe you can pop by or say hi, or join in the fun too!

That's a nice poster.. yeah you wouldn't believe the things Photoshop is capable of. I thought I knew a lot about Photoshop before I went to art school for graphic design and before I got my job but I learned soooo much after that. I love Photoshop!

If you mean dummy layer as in having a separate layer to apply the lighting effects, yep, that's what I did. Usually I avoid making changes permanent for editable elements (such as keeping texts as vectors and shape masks as what they are instead of rasterising them) to ensure reversibility of my actions.

If the way you do it is different, do you mind sharing with us? Thanks!

Oh mans I hate revisions! But I guess the only way out is to try my best... gee!

Thanks for dropping by Rin! You're just being too generous with your compliments *laughs* anyway, regarding the colour wheel logo, it's actually an asterisk of a font called Anivers. You can see how I've created the logo from scratch in this tutorial. Have fun poking around!

And thanks for bookmarking ;) if you don't mind, I'll be linking you and Wendy's shared blog. Teehee!
