All hail the heavenly Korean ramyeon the hall 12 canteen is serving! They have one of the best korean food around and it’s cheap – all thanks to the subsidised rental rates for the stalls in our university canteens. When I was scrutinising over what noodles did the chef use for this dish, I was told that he actually uses authentic Korea-important instant ramyeon noodles. I’m impressed – most chefs will choose cheaper local instant noodles and then add those fake food additives to make it taste Korean. Yummylicious.
Almost every Tuesday Chongx and I will have a lunch date at NIE canteen! They have one of the best Western food ever. Priced at around $3.50 to $4.80 depending on what you’ve order, the food is gazillion times better than the $2.50 ones at our lousy canteen. Wise choice! Too bad the canteen is too far from school so that’s why we only eat there once per week. If the canteen is too near, we would have camped out there every night just to get good food!
IKEA. I’m wondering how’d they manage to give you cool-looking furnitures and good food at the same time. Check out their in-store restuarant and you’ll be surprised at how great the food there is. I looove their shrimp salad. One of the best damn thing around, not to mention being priced reasonably!

you make me hungry! hahaha.. got to search for some noodles later.. huhu..

Yay looks like I’ve succeeded! I love eating instant noodles when I was in high school and college, but after entering university for 3 months I’ve only cooked myself instant noodles ONCE. Lol!
YESH! you are making me hungry. It just so happens I haven’t had lunch yet.
Well, yup instant ramyeon. but i was kinda hoping for handmade ramyeon. lol. maybe not. wonder how it’ll taste like if it was handmade
and oh, the portions are Really BIG! Thank god I’m graduating this year from my school. Or else, I’d drool in envy. Our canteen is not what you can imagine.

Yay, another victory for me! You just came at the wrong time Jason :P teehee!
Actually I was hoping for handmade ra-myeon too but it is obviously instant ra-myeon when I tasted the noodles. They are too bouncy and ‘Q’ to be handmade, heh! I’ve tasted handmade ramen before though… it is fantastic! We have this Crystal Jade restaurant in Singapore that serves really awesome ramen. You’re ought to try them out if you’re in Singapore some time in the future!
The portions SHOULD be big :D because we’re all adults afterall! We expect to have a huge serving after paying for that kind of price… haha!
Well high school canteens are famous for having fear-factor-ish kind of food… I’ve been through that. A friend of mine found a cockroach head in his noodles before – and I wonder where the beheaded body went.
it’s hall 13~!!! not 12, 13~!! btw, this is yi cheng
Lol okay thanks, my bad!
wahhh, aku suka, damn nice lar the food, esp ikea’s. i am so devoted to their meatballs but very exp lar here, can only eat once in awhile.
haha, the shrimp salad looks too good to resist tho, but in malaysia they have the super awesome hotdog and nasi lemak for breakfast.

Tysern!!! Long time never chat with you already. I guess you must be really busy with life over there. Good luck and all the best for your statistics heheh!
I have this fetish for IKEA stuff – their furnitures and food alike. Their Swiss meatballs are simply heavenly and divine! I love their salmon dish and shrimp salads. But their lime jelly tastes more like detergent-flavoured plastic (it is so HARD to sink you teeth into the jelly)… lol!
Yea I know! Whenever I go to IKEA in the morning I will definitely buy their nasi lemak. Mmmhmmm! Yummy!
Korean Chicken Ramyeon… that looks like my daily lunch.. hahaha

Lol your ‘yearbook’ gravatar made me laugh :D everyone is so crazy over the yearbook thing now! I shall get my own yearbook photo heh.
I’m envious that you actually can have that for lunch EVERYDAY. I’m sick of the economic rice over here! The same bland dish everyday. Boohoo~
I’ve abandoned korean instant noodles for a year now, but now after seeing that picture, i’m going to go out now and buy 10 packs! hahahahaa  The price range you stated for the Western food shocked me cause it’s very cheap!! I think it’s even cheaper than Malaysia right after you convert it(comparing to those hawker western stalls).
Now im hungry again

Ooooh… why did you abandon them? Is it because you fell for Japanese ramen or udon? Have fun enjoying your rekindled love for Korean instant noodles!
The prices of the food in my canteen are generally cheaper than outside because they have low rental rates. And you know, we can be thrifty at times so they’ll be more than happy to lower the prices to make us buy their food!
Thanks for bringing us there. The food was great. Lol.
I think your blog is so cool. Even your gravatar is in your comment box. Don’t forget to eat your fav food in Msia!
You’re welcome Jas! Let’s have dinner there again if you want to! It’s just tragic that it’s too far away from your hall… awww!
I had Char Kway Teow at a really niche and comfy cafe today! Will blog about it later!
Yea Wed. Time to shed off some weight first! damn.
If only I could be as skinny as you :(
Are you sure you want to get metabolism rate like mine? You’ll get sent by your parents to hospital to check whether you’re anorexic or bulimic, haha!
Just walk to SBS everyday. Will burn lots and lots of carb! :D
You’re very careful with your words. People normally just use “Fats”, lol.
yummy looking food indeed..and at a reasonable price too…very good!!!
OMG I love Ikea meatballs.. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
