If you want to learn how to design your own blog layout, you can start by reading up on the common usages of <abbr title="eXtensible Hyper Text Markup Language">XHTML</abbr> and <abbr title="Cascading StyleSheet">CSS</abbr>. If you have prior knowledge about these two, you're good to go! What you really need later is to plan your blog layout - usually I'll write down ideas that I have in mind in my notebook or sketchpad and then refine on a few selected ones when I have time. After finalising on your design, you can start creating the theme files needed. I highly recommend you to start with Plaintxt's <a href="http://www.plaintxt.org/themes/sandbox/" title="Sandbox" rel="nofollow">Wordpress Sandbox Theme</a> because it is almost free of CSS rules and has dynamic classes and etc. Greetings yienyien!
