London Is Hosting The 2012 Olympic Games!!!

Congratulations, England!

Well, after many days of grueling competitions and 4 rounds of voting, England emerged as the country to host the year 2012 Olympics! Actually I did not expect England to win but Paris.

Personally I thought that Paris would win because it has experience in hosting the Olympics Games, since it has hosted the Games for a few times. But then after hearing the news that London won, I think that maybe Paris should give the chance to other cities. Paris is really a great city, but then I think it is fair to let other cities host the Games.

I am really very sad when new York got eliminated in the second round of voting. New York has never hosted the Olympics Games before, out of all the other 4 candidate cities. So I think maybe the IOC can give New York a chance to host the Olympic Games. New York is really a great city. The people there are great, so does the culture over New York. I can’t imagine how magestic it can be to host the Ganmes in a metropolis!

LONDON, England (CNN) — London has defeated European rival Paris to host the 2012 Summer Games, bringing the Olympics back to Britain for the first time in more than half a century.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge made the announcement after IOC members voted 54-50 to eliminate the French capital in the fourth and final round of secret ballots Wednesday in Singapore.

“The International Olympic Committee has the honor of announcing that the Games of the 30th Olympiad in 2012 are awarded to the city of London,” Rogge declared after opening a sealed envelope containing the result.
